Coláiste Choilm CBS is a Catholic Boys school founded by The Christian Brothers in 1967. It is a member ofERST(The Edmund Rice Schools Trust). It combines a strong emphasis on academic achievement with a caring attitude to all its students. The schoolmission statementfollows the Christian Brothers' philosophy of creating a community of students whose central purpose is the religious, moral, intellectual, physical and social education of the student. This community seeks to create an atmosphere of Christian care and concern in which the student can grow to maturity.

Sports News:

Under 17's played in Leinster Cup preliminary round last Monday recording a 5-2 victory over Clonee, Co.Meath. This victory was followed up with a 6-1 victory in the 1st round proper against Colaiste Mhuire Cabra. They were beaten by Chanel on Fri 24th Oct. by 6-2 in the first league match. However, They played against the same team in the 2nd round of the Leinster Cup winning 1-0 to qualify for 3rd round of Leinster Cup. Well done lads!

Under 19's were eliminated from the Leinster Cup losing 6-2 to a very good St.Pauls North Brunswick Street. Our first league match saw us suffer defeat to local rivals Portmarnock on a score of 2-1. Our two remaining league matches require victoty over St. Joseph's Fairview and Belvedere College to progress

Under 14 Gaelic Footballers started their season with a resounding victory over Portmarnock scoring 4-14 while only conceding 0-8, this was followed up with victory in their 2nd group game and have reached the knockout-stage. Game to be played after mid-term

Best of luck to former 5th Year students Zac Elbouzedi and Jonathan Lunney who have begun their professional soccer careers with West Brom and Preston respectively. Also keep an eye out for former students Shane Elworthy and Gareth McCaffrey who are also plying their trade across the water with Fulham F.C and Hibs respectively. Best of luck to Alan O'Sullivan who recently returned home from Aberdeen and who is now playing with Shelbourne F.C and Ireland's Under 19 international team.

Congratulations to last years 6th Year Students Conor Brennan and Barry Tyrell who both finished in the top 4% of Leaving Certificate Candidates. Both were awarded with Entrance Scholarships from U.C.D.

Congratulations also to Ryan McDyer and Cian O'Hagan who received D.C.U. scholarships
